Out of every thing I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried EVERYTHING,
good old common sense has ALWAYS worked the best for me.
I mean think about it….everyone has a diet to push. Will you lose weight on ANY diet? Yup! But, the question comes in…once you get it off….will you keep it off?!!
If you are doing a very restrictive diet, it won’t work. I PROMISE you that you will lose it, but you WILL gain it back as soon as you begin to “eat” again.![]()
What I’m doing is NOT a diet….it’s truly a lifestyle change….this streamlines your weight. If you are looking to quickly become a size 2, honey this is NOT for you!
If you are looking to find what is best for YOUR body, then this is it! ![]()
Please don’t think that I am telling you to eat this! Your doctor or nutritionist must determine what’s going to work for you. This is what’s best for ME right now.
The VERY basics of what I do is this:
1. Eat ONE serving of whatever I’m eating (except veggies…MOST IMPORTANT!!)
2. Eating whole foods (90% of the time)
3. Eating off of “regular” dishes (saucers, small bowls, tea cups)
4. Drinking at least 8 cups a “liquid” a day (water mainly)
5. Eat only 5 hours. (3 meals a day with one snack)
6. Take 2 vitamins a day (the recommended daily allowance in vitamins is based on a 150 pound person, so I take 2)
7. Take Omega 3s
8. Eat a variety of food
9. Journal EVERY bite
10. Move more
11. Try to stay right around 2000 calories a day…for the most part.
Those are the basics…now, to take it a little further, I also do these things…..
1. Eat 3-4 groups for meals. (starch, protein, vegetables, fruit, dairy and fat)
2. Eat 2-3 groups for snacks.
3. Try to eat some form of protein with every meal.
4. Vegetables (none starch) are unlimited
5. Eat ONLY the serving of ANY other food
6. Eat VERY little to no processed foods
7. Have ONE MEAL per week, where I eat whatever I want.
But, remember, just ONE MEAL!
8. Make 80% of your foods 1 ingredient. i.e. shrimp, chicken, corn, vegetables (non processed)
That’s it. That’s what I’m doing. It’s simple and I’m losing like crazy.
If you don’t know about NLEA servings…please click here.
The hardest thing for me to learn was to stop eating when I was satisfied. With doing this, I don’t have to worry about eating “until I’m satisfied”. If I stick to one serving of whatever it is, and just eat 3-4 of each per meal…I’m never stuffed…just satisfied.
Since I’ve been doing this, I’ve learned what true hunger feels like….not emotional hunger…but physical hunger…the type of hunger you need to have!![]()
